Abstract

This is the text of the presentation to the opening session of the 1986 ACM/SIGUCCS annual meeting held in St. Louis, MO. The author presents some concerns regarding the widening gap between university computing centers, as service organizations administered by one particular subgroup of their clients. and those they are committed to serve.
