Abstract
AlcoZone is a web-based system designed to educate freshmen about alcohol-related issues. The independent study involved creating a working prototype of the AlcoZone system. The system interaction begins with the user selecting his/her preferred user interface from a choice of three interfaces. This is then followed with a questionnaire, answers to which are used to personalize the content viewed by the user as part of the online class. This personalized alcohol education class consists of intertwined feedback and education components. The prototype has been developed to be submitted as part of a grant proposal to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA). If the grant proposal gets accepted, the system shall be enhanced, widened, and finally deployed for use by freshmen. This document serves as a comprehensive resource for the AlcoZone system design, testing, evaluation, and development. The document also contains the User Manual which shall be useful for the users of the system. Also included is a Developer Manual, intended for future developers of the system.
